I cannot sign in

Work through these in order.

  • Use the same method you signed up with. If you created the account with Apple or Google, there is no password on it — tap the same button, not the email form.
  • Check the email address. Apple's Hide My Email gives you a relay address; if you signed up that way, that relay is your account, not your everyday inbox.
  • Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen. The reset link is valid for 30 minutes and can be used once. Request a new one if it has expired.
  • No password at all? Use Email me a sign-in code instead. Same 30-minute, single-use rule.
  • Deleted your account recently? For 30 days after deletion it can still be restored — see Cancelling a pending deletion. After that it is gone and you will need to sign up again.

Still locked out: support@brosky.app, from the address on the account if you can.

My sign-in code or reset email did not arrive
  • Give it two or three minutes. It is sent immediately but mail providers queue.
  • Check spam and any promotions tab. Mark it as not spam so the next one lands properly.
  • Check for a typo in the address, and that it is the address the account was created with.
  • Codes and reset links expire after 30 minutes and work once. Requesting a new one invalidates the old one — use the newest email in the thread.
  • Work or school addresses are often filtered by an administrator. A personal address is more reliable.

Mail from Brosky comes from no-reply@brosky.app. Nothing we send will ever ask you for your password.

My photo will not upload
  • Check the connection, then try again — a dropped upload is the usual cause.
  • Grant the app access to your photos when asked. If you declined earlier: iOS Settings › Brosky › Photos; Android Settings › Apps › Brosky › Permissions.
  • Use a normal JPEG or PNG. Very large images and unusual formats can fail.
  • Screenshots of other apps and images with text or contact details across them are rejected by moderation. So are photos where you cannot be seen. See the photo rules.

If it uploaded but is showing as pending, it is in the review queue — a small number of photos are held for a human to look at. That is normal and it resolves without you doing anything.

I am not getting notifications

The session reminder is the one notification Brosky really needs to deliver, so it is worth fixing.

  • iOS: Settings › Notifications › Brosky › Allow Notifications. Check Focus and Do Not Disturb schedules too — a reminder that arrives during Focus is easy to miss.
  • Android: Settings › Apps › Brosky › Notifications. Also check that battery optimisation is not restricting the app in the background.
  • Sign out and back in once. That re-registers the device for push.
  • If you use Brosky on more than one device, the most recent sign-in is the one that receives push.

Some things genuinely do not send a notification, by design: a pending claim being withdrawn, reactions in a thread, and anything to do with being viewed. See what Brosky sends you.

Reminders are also dropped rather than sent late if they miss their window, so an unusually delayed one will not arrive at all rather than waking you at 3am.

There is nothing on my board

Normal in a new city, and not a bug. Brosky does not fill the gap with fake profiles — there is nothing to browse here, so there would be nothing to fake.

What actually works:

  • Post your own session if you have not. Yours is real whether or not anyone takes the seat, and it is what another man will find next week.
  • Widen it. Clear the city filter — the board is worldwide by default and online sessions have no place attached at all. Add an activity or two.
  • Place a standing order so you are told the moment a matching seat opens, instead of refreshing.
  • Send your session link to two people who almost do the thing already. That is how most crews actually start.
My seat or session disappeared

Usually one of these, all of them deliberate:

  • The host paused or closed the session. Any open seat comes down with it.
  • Someone else was accepted. A seat holds one man; the other claims lapse.
  • Two sessions in a row did not happen, so the seat went back on the board automatically. The thread stays.
  • The other man deleted his account. His sessions go, the seat he held in yours comes back to you, and any thread between you is removed for both of you.
  • You blocked each other. Blocking removes you from each other's board immediately.
The app is slow or crashing
  • Force-close it and reopen: swipe it away from the app switcher.
  • Update to the latest version — see Update the app.
  • Restart the phone. It fixes more than it should.
  • Check you are not on a captive wi-fi network that has not been signed into yet.
  • As a last resort, reinstall. Your account lives on our servers, so nothing is lost by reinstalling — just sign in with the same method.

If it keeps happening, tell us at support@brosky.app with your device, OS version, app version, and what you were doing. Crash diagnostics help us find it faster.

Update the app

iPhone: open the App Store, tap your profile picture at the top right, scroll to the list of pending updates and tap Update next to Brosky. Turn on automatic updates at Settings › App Store › App Updates.

Android: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Manage apps & device › Updates available, and update Brosky. Turn on automatic updates from the app's Play listing menu.

If Brosky is not listed as having an update, you are already on the current version.
